Any of you have any experience with these airlines? What has been your experience about how on time or late they are?

Chinese airlines are basically indistinguishable. Most routes are on-time, often early, except for busy routes like Beijing-Shanghai and Shanghai-Guangzhou/Shenzhen/Hong Kong due to limited airspace opened up to commercial traffic by the People's Liberation Army

I would go for price and schedule.
I have only flown China Air and China Southern and found both to be equivalent to U.S. domestic airlines, in terms of service and cabin condition. You have no problem.
In fact flown in China is more cheaper than in the US.
